He'd probably be better off playing on the wing and playing top six minutes than being the fourth line centre with Scott and Kaleta.

Garth, you're so grossly ignorant that it's beginning to annoy me. Grigorenko HAS PLAYED WING BEFORE. I'm not sure what the context was (and I'm not going to make a novel of a blog to act like I do), but he was switched to RW on several occasions in Quebec. It didn't make a difference in his play. I'm not convinced that he can handle the defensive responsibilities of playing center in the NHL right now, and moving him to the wing alleviates a lot of that responsibility. Not to mention, he'd get MUCH more playing time in the top 6 as a winger. Scorers like him BELONG on the wing. Yeah, players like Crosby/Stamkos/Malkin are scoring centers NOW, but they played wing very early in their careers until their defensive abilities were refined enough to be a full-time center. You may think it's not the right choice to put him on the wing, but to say it's the worst possible option? That's just lunacy.

And on the flip side you have Joe Thornton who had 7pts in 60 games his rookie year. Who is actually more similar to Grigo in style of play than any of the other three
